James P. Beittel, M.D., Emeritus

Dr. Beittel was the founder of Beittel-Becker Pediatric Associates.  Dr. Beittel had a long legacy of excellence in medicine, public service, and child advocacy.  Dr. Beittel first opened his doors to serve children in 1968 as a solo practitioner out of his N. Duke street office.  Dr. Beittel retired from medicine in 2002 leaving the practice in the hands of the team listed above. Even in his retirement he remained active in the community serving as an unpaid deputy coroner and leader of the child death review team for Lancaster County.  Dr. Beittel’s other passion in life was singing. He was an accomplished tenor and was a member of the Lancaster Opera Company.  Dr. Beittel passed away July of 2006 and is missed by all the staff here at Beittel-Becker Pediatric Associates.
